Paediatric First Aid Courses

First Aid is an essential part of childcare.

Here at Jamie Tupholme LTD. our tutors can deliver Ofsted recognised Emergency Paediatric and Paediatric First Aid Courses.

Our Training is designed to give you the skills needed to deal with emergency situations as well as common classroom injuries.

All of our Paediatric First Aid Qualifications are delivered in line with The Department for Education Statutory Framework for the Early Foundation Stage Guidelines 2017 and are recognised by Ofsted as well as NVQs in Education.

Emergency Paediatric First Aid (6 Hours)

Course Content
This course is designed for childcare professionals working within the Early Years environment where a more qualified (at least Paediatric First Aid) member of staff is available. Delivery includes:

  • Principles of First Aid
  • Primary Survey
  • The Recovery Position
  • Basic Life Support (CPR)
  • Defibrillation
  • Severe Bleeding
  • Shock
  • Choking
  • Seizures (Epileptic And Other)
  • Burns
  • Minor Injuries
  • Planning For An Emergency
  • additional topics may be included at the training providers discretion or to meet the needs of their customers

    Delivery Time
    Minimum 6 Hours contact time in one session.
    This course will involve practical assessment of skills prior to certification

    Previous Experience
    No prior experience required.

    Paediatric First Aid (12 Hours)

    Course Content
    For appointed Paediatric First Aiders working within a childcare environment. Course content includes:

  • Principles of First Aid
  • Primary Survey
  • The Recovery Position
  • Basic Life Support (CPR)
  • Defibrillation
  • Severe Bleeding
  • Shock
  • Head, Neck and Spinal Injuries
  • Secondary Survey
  • The Unconscious Casualty
  • Choking
  • Asthma
  • Anaphylactic Shock Allergic Reactions)
  • Poisoning
  • Seizures (Epileptic And Other)
  • Diabetic Emergencies
  • Hot And Cold Injuries
  • Burns
  • Bone, Muscle and Joint Injuries
  • Minor Injuries
  • Bites And Stings
  • Acute Medical Conditions
  • Planning for an Emergency
  • additional topics may be included at the training providers discretion or to meet the needs of their customers

    Delivery Time
    Minimum 12 Hours contact time over two days.
    This course will involve practical and written assessment of skills prior to certification
