Workplace First Aid Courses

Jamie Tupholme LTD. is accredited to deliver the following workplace First Aid courses in accordance with HSE guidelines:

  • Emergency First Aid at Work (1 Day)
  • First Aid at Work (3 Day)
  • First Aid at Work Requalification (2 Day)
  • Annual Refresher Training (1 Day)

    Emergency First Aid at Work [EFAW] (1 Day)

    On completion of training, successful candidates should be able to:

  • understand the role of the first-aider, including reference to:
  • the importance of preventing cross infection;
  • the need for recording incidents and actions;
  • use of available equipment;
  • assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency;
  • administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious (including seizure);
  • administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation;
  • administer first aid to a casualty who is choking;
  • administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded and bleeding;
  • administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock;
  • provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries (including small cuts, grazes and bruises, minor burns and scalds, small splinters)


  • Delivery Time
    Minimum 8 Hours contact time.
    This course will involve practical and written assessment of skills prior to certification

    Previous Experience
    No prior experience required.

    First Aid at Work [FAW] (3 Days)

    In addition to all of the content listed for the EFAW course, successful candidates should be able to:

  • understand the role of the first-aider, including reference to:
  • the importance of preventing cross infection;
  • administer first aid to a casualty with:
  • injuries to bones, muscles and joints, including suspected spinal injuries;
  • chest injuries;
  • burns and scalds;
  • eye injuries;
  • sudden poisoning;
  • anaphylactic shock;
  • recognise the presence of major illness including:
  • heart attack;
  • stroke;
  • epilepsy;
  • asthma;
  • diabetes;
  • and provide appropriate first aid.


  • Delivery Time
    Minimum 24 Hours contact time across 3 days.
    This course will involve practical and written assessment of skills prior to certification

    Previous Experience
    No prior experience required.

    Annual Refresher Training (4/6 Hours)

    Successful candidates should be able to:

  • Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency.
  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious (including seizure).
  • Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded and bleeding.
  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock.


  • Delivery Time
    Minimum 4 Hours contact time (without AED training) or 6 Hours (with AED Training).

    Previous Experience
    Delegates must hold an in-date EFAW or FAW certificate to participate in this training.

    FAW Re-qualification (2 Days)

    Successful candidates will meet the criteria set out in the FAW (3 Day) course.

    Delivery Time
    Minimum 16 Hours contact time across 2 days.

    Previous Experience
    Delegates must hold an in-date FAW certificate (or one that expired within the last month) to participate in this training.
